Following on from my previous post about where to buy Anarkali Churidar suits online here's an update on some of the new suits available from Kaneesha.com

These suits are everywhere in the shops now, but I know not everyone has a host of fabulous asian boutiques on their doorstep. I'm starting to wonder...when will this trend come to an end??

First off I love your blog...awesome pictures! Second, I hate anarkali suits..I mean they look beautiful on some ladies however, this doesn't suit shorter ladies like me. The babydoll style on top with a skirt on bottom would make me look shorter. I'm skinny so I'm lucky but for those ladies even medium sized would look pregnant? That's my observation. My cousin got one of these suits fresh from India about 3 yrs. ago!! So the trend has been here and there but I don't know how far it has gone in terms of the mainstream yet.
aks - glad you like the blog :)
I think the right anarkali suit can look good on shorter people (especially if worn with a good pair of heels!!) it's all about choosing the right fabric and colours. I have to admit I have seen some badly designed anarkali suits which look awful!!
Desi Fashion Police did a review of anarkali suits pointing out what looks hot and what doesn't - check it out: http://www.desifashionpolice.com/2008/03/trend-watch-anarkali-suits.html
